WHAT AGE CAN MY CHILD START?
We accept students from the age of 6 in both our ensemble and solo classes.
WHY DO YOU COMBINE AGE GROUPS IN THE SAME CLASS?
We've found exploratory learning and interaction with other young performers helps our students to learn and grow in a comfortable environment. Older students are able to model concepts for younger students and interacting with older and younger students helps communication and negotiation skills.
DO STUDENTS REQUIRE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE?
No! Students at Pantseat join our classes to develop their confidence and performance skills. We strive to provide learning experiences that help students to thrive and develop.
WHO ARE YOUR TEACHERS?
Our teachers are industry professionals with Working With Children Checks, who are currently working in various areas of the performing arts. The Pantseat staff are all performers themselves which we believe allows us to really hone the skills of our students.
CAN PARENTS ATTEND CLASSES/REHEARSALS?
Parents are welcome to drop off and pick up their child and pop in and say hi at the start and end of each lesson. However, parents are not allowed to attend for the class duration. Our students come to us to develop their confidence and skills and we have found that when parents attend this can distract students, shifting their focus away from the curriculum being taught and make them self conscious and participate in the lesson to their fully ability.
HOW OFTEN DO STUDENTS PERFORM?
Our students perform at 2 compulsory performances at the end of Term 2 and 4 - Pantseat Performs. This is an opportunity for our students to show what they have worked on in class during the semester. We also offer students the opportunity to perform at Term Recitals, our annual "Pantseat Sings" concert, cabaret performances, theatrical seasons and various corporate gigs. Pantseat Performs and our theatrical seasons are presented at the Civic Playhouse. Previous theatrical seasons have included The Wiz, Xanadu, Snoopy, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and UBU.
