Aretha has just graduated from WEA Hunter with a CUA50213 Diploma of Musical Theatre
and has been a member of Pantseat since 2010. During her time at Pantseat, she has been
involved in many productions as a performer, and in various other capacities including,
stage manager, production manager, cast manager, Drama and Musical Theatre Tutor and
Choreographer. Aretha was also a member of the Pantseat Carollers in 2011-2013, employed
to work in the Stockland shopping centres throughout Newcastle and the Hunter Valley
during the Christmas period. She represented Pantseat at the Toronto Chamber of
Commerce’s Carols by Candlelight in 2014 as a soloist performer.
Aretha gained both Encore (Music) and Onstage (Drama) HSC nominations for her
practical pieces presented during her HSC. Aretha has also completed her Trinity Guildhall Musical Theatre examinations to Grade 8, gaining each one with Distinction. In 2015, Aretha was the inaugural 18-22years old Broadway Here I Come Vocal Competition winner.
Aretha has been a soloist in Starstruck, the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games and was chosen in the final group for School Spectacular. Aretha’s commitment to the performing arts and the Newcastle Theatre community, can be seen in the involvement she has had with other theatre companies in the area. A credit to her dedication and passion, Aretha has performed in productions with Metropolitan Players, Opera Hunter and DAPA.
2016 saw Aretha win the Youth in Business Award at the Local Business Awards for the work she does at Pantseat.
